Privacy policy
Last updated: 18 September 2026
The short version. There is no account and no login. Your puzzle progress and statistics are saved in your own browser and are never sent to me or to anyone else. The games themselves make no network requests once the page has loaded. The one exception is advertising, which is supplied by Google and does use cookies — that is covered below, along with how to turn it off.
Who runs this site
Verbraid and Weave are run by one individual as a personal side project. There is no company. For anything in this policy, or to make a request about your data, write to feedback@verbraid.com.
What is stored in your browser
Both games use your browser's local storage — not cookies — to remember three things:
- Your game in progress. The current puzzle, the guesses you have made, and the day's answers. This is what lets you close the tab and come back to the same board.
- Your statistics. Games played, games won, current and best streak, and a list of the puzzle numbers you have already finished, so that reloading a finished puzzle cannot inflate your record.
- Your settings. Whether you have the high-contrast palette on, which mode you were last playing, and whether you have already seen the help dialog.
All of it stays on your device. There is no server to send it to. It is not shared, sold, or transmitted anywhere, and I have no way of reading it. Local storage is also per-browser, so your streak on your phone and your streak on your laptop are two separate things.
If local storage is unavailable — private browsing, a full quota, or a browser configured to block site data — both games still work. They simply forget everything when you leave.
How to delete it
Clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings erases all of the
above permanently. In most browsers this lives under Settings, then Privacy, then
something like "Cookies and site data". You can also use your browser's developer
tools to remove the individual verbraid.v1.* and
weave.v1.* entries. Deleting them resets your streak, which cannot be
recovered afterwards.
What the site does not collect
- No account, email address, or password is ever requested.
- No analytics or tracking scripts are installed by me. I do not know how many people play, which puzzles are hard, or where visitors come from.
- No personal information is gathered through the games at all.
Server logs
The pages are served by a commercial web host. Like essentially every web server, it records standard technical information about requests — IP address, the time, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string — for security and troubleshooting. These logs are held by the hosting provider, and I do not combine them with anything else or use them to build a profile of you.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising supplied by Google AdSense. A few things follow from that, and they are worth stating plainly:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits.
- These cookies are set by Google and its partners, not by me. I do not receive the data they collect, and I cannot see it. I only see aggregate earnings figures inside my AdSense account.
How to opt out
- You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings. Ads will still appear, but they will not be based on your browsing.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative.
- Blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or using an ad blocker, also works. Neither game is broken by doing so — they are built to run without any network access at all, and I would rather you played than saw an ad.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can decline or change your answer at any time.
Google's own explanation of how it handles data in its advertising products is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
If you email me
When you send feedback, I receive your email address and whatever you wrote, and the message sits in my mailbox. I use it to reply and to fix whatever you reported. I do not add you to any list, because there is no list. Ask me to delete a message and I will.
Children
These are word games with no chat, no user accounts, and no user-generated content, but the site is not directed at children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect information from them. Because no personal information is collected from anyone, there is nothing held about a child either.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you, and to object to its processing. In practice I hold almost nothing: your game data is on your own device and under your control, and the only thing I could possibly hold is an email you chose to send me. Requests about advertising data need to go to Google, since that is who collects it. For anything I can act on, write to feedback@verbraid.com.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top changes with it. If a change is significant — a new category of data, or a new third party — I will say so on the games' own pages rather than quietly editing this one.
Contact
feedback@verbraid.com for anything in this policy, and for anything else about the games. It is one mailbox and one person reading it. The contact page has a note on what is most useful to include.
